This is a reissue of Should's 1995 album, with single and unreleased tracks added on. Should (now known as shiFt) does the space-rock/shoegazer thing and features the requisite buzzing/whooshing/seasick guitars, slow tempos, and chimey keyboard elements. I realize that droning and repetitiveness are a hallmark of this genre, but because sound is the focus, unfortunately some bands in this genre seem to feel that they can get away with being a little lazy in the songwriting department. When the 2 best songs on your album are covers, that says something: "Merger" is an 18th Dye song and "Own Two Feet" is by I-dunno-who, and they stand out as tuneful amongst the original material, which has a good sound but otherwise doesn't hold my interest too well.
