Oooh, this is all just so dreamy, I almost can't stand it! Souvenir are a lovely band from Spain, yet this CD is sung entirely in French! Ooh la la! And these six gentle songs will truly take you on a mini-mind-vacation to the streets of Paris, with their smoky, jazzy, laid-back sound, and the melodious vocals of Patricia de la Fuente. Their bossa-nova pop reminds me a bit of Autour de Lucie, yet Souvenir borrow more from the past than they do: they cover Brian Wilson's "Girl Don't Tell Me" (but in French, of course!), and they even recorded a tribute song to the fabulous Dusty Springfield! It's all so smooth and yummy...like a Cafe Au Lait! ; ) (janice.5.01)
