strongbad sings
and other type hits • harmless junk, inc. • 2003

Fans of the online cartoon Homestar Runner are sure to love this awesome CD! It compiles many of the songs you've heard from Strongbad's e-mails ("Trogdor", anyone?), but beefed up with a full band supporting them (they're called Y-O-U, and you can learn more about 'em here). The most impressive thing about this CD is how accurately they're able to interpret such a wide range of music styles: from the techno-riffic "The System is Down" to the country-western stylings of "Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them)" to the old-school rap from Coach Z titled "These People Try to Fade Me". And then, of course, there are the heavy metal contributions from Limozeen and Taranchula! (The CD even comes with a Limozeen sticker!)

My only, only, only complaint is that the heavy metal songs are long, and the songs I like the most (especially Teen Girl Squad's What's-Her-Face doing "I Think I Have a Chance With This Guy") are too damn short. But other than that, this rules! Support homestarrunner.com and buy this CD and tons of other cool merch from them! (janice.02.04)
