I got on a small Weezer-listening kick last week, enjoying old tracks like "Jamie" and "Buddy Holly", and heck, even "Island in the Sun." But when our friend Chris let me take a listen to their latest album, I was kinda disappointed. The first track started. "Hmmm, maybe the next one will be better," I thought, clicking to the next track. Again, "maybe the next one..." and again. Before I knew it, I had skipped through the whole album.
But, I'm not a big Weezer fan to begin with, and I mostly like their more melodic songs. The thing with Maladroit is that it's very heavy, with one too many Van Halen-esque guitar solos in it for me. But if that's your cup of tea, then right on! (janice.05.02)
