  copacetic zine 1996-2000
one dot two dot three dot four dot five dot six dot seven

within the pages: interviews with Holiday Flyer (oh, swoon!), Bis and the Cardigans, a small diary from my trip to visit Jeremy in Montana, end-of-the-year and holiday fun.

interesting facts: The text in this issue is all wavy because I used a single-sheet printer to print it out, and the printer was so small and weak that it shook violently as the pages printed, thus causing that odd look to the text. Never again!

the copacetic contest for this issue: Planning ahead for our Valentine's Day issue (which was never printed due to lack of funds), the contest was to describe your dream date with those cute boys from the band Holiday. The prize was a very cool Holiday poster provided by the very kind March Records.

my favorite things about this issue: Without a doubt, the interview with Holiday Flyer. I think they are one of the best bands out there right now, and I just want to do anything I can to make sure their music gets heard by as many people as possible!

my least favorite things about this issue: Typos, poor grammar, cut-off text and that trembly text look. Oh, and the fact that it was my last issue for a while. (Sob!)

reviews:
"Janice really strives to put some personality into her zine and ends up with something more entertaining than the stock review/interview format. There is some good music coverage here --- like the chats with Holiday Flyer, the Cardigans and Bis --- but we also get the column "Winona Watch" to keep track of everyone's favorite Heather [janice's note: Winona was a Veronica, not a Heather], and the serialized fiction "Gomi" about a girl and her ghost." --- Chris W. Becker from Factsheet Five

"Janice comes through with yet another winner. Watch out indiepop world! Interviews with one of my favorite bands, Holiday Flyer. Also interviews with The Cardigans and Bis. Janice tells of her trip to Montana (where's that?) where the malls are all mom & pop stores! As always tons of record reviews and concert photos (His Name Is Alive, Sebadoh, Versus among others). Also the usual personal stuff I like like Janice and her friends give their 1996 favorites and new year resolutions (will you really write back??? we'll see). I am biased. Janice is my friend. If you read the web page reviews guess who you find" --- the always-fab Jeffrey Kickbright

"copacetic is defiantly, blissfully full of cute rare typefaces & hints of pastels-- the autobiography in it is fun (especially since it's got a passel of co-authors) and the bands get covered thoroughly: #4, the Xmas issue, chats w/ Holiday Flyer, Cardigans, Bis, reviews lots of gigs, and visits Bozeman, Montana (not a band)... " --- Steve Burt of the amazing Adventure Playground zine
