For anyone who doesn't know us (and really, now! Who could possibly be reading this who doesn't know us?), Mike and I LOVE Yo La Tengo. They are our ultimate favorite band. We even planned our honeymoon around their tour, and they played "My Heart's Reflection" just for us! (I wrote all about it in issue five of the print version of copacetic...) So, when tour dates were posted for their current tour, we decided to make a mini-vacation out of it and follow them around the Pacific Northwest!

After picking Mike up from work on Friday evening, we headed straight to Sonic Boom Records on Capitol Hill, 'cause YLT's opening band, the legendary The Clean, were doing an instore there, hooray! Our friends Chris & Arianne arrived straight from work, too, and we joined the decent-sized crowd around the stage to watch these old dudes from New Zealand rock out.

And they were really awesome!!! I started getting that little bubble of excitement in my tummy thinking about how cool it was going to be to see them do a full set later that night. Robert was wearing this really rad 1970's photoprint polyester shirt. They played for about 30 minutes, and then we all bought copies of their "Anthology" release and then after a kinda gross dinner at the Hollywood Burger Company (or whatever it's called) on Broadway, we all went our "separate ways", as Steve Perry would say.
